Hello Everyone:
Team Snake Panama (www.lamica.org/teamsnakepanama.html) is finishing an
important book on The Venomous Snakes and Mimics of Panama and Costa Rica.
The book is geared towards students, tourists, local people, and researchers,
especially those not focusing on snakes and hopes to provide an important aid
in snake conservation and in the reduction of snakebite in remote areas. The
book includes 45 species with identification information, color photographs,
and range maps. We also include a list of hospitals by province and background
information on each country, how to prevent and treat snakebites, and
information on conservation efforts for snakes. Book is in English and Spanish
and includes symbols and color-coding for easy use.

We need a little bit of help and perhaps you can assist!
1. We are missing some photographs of either species or unique morphs within a
species. Please write for complete list of snakes. We would prefer photos taken
in Costa Rica or Panama, but may need to substitute in others.
2. Small donations to help us finish the book and get it to press. Additional
funds will be used to distribute copies to remote clinics, schools, park
offices, etc. within Panama and Costa Rica. We are offering acknowledgement in
the book and a free signed copy when it is done for a $50 donate now. Visit
www.lamica.org/teamsnakepanama.html and click on any Donate button to
contribute. Please note if you would like the acknowledgement in a name other
than your own.
3. Ideas of what you would like to see included in such a guide. We feel that
we have covered a lot of important topics, but perhaps you have a great idea we
overlooked!

Please email us with any questions or suggestions!
