A PhD POSITION IN MACROECOLOGY I invite applications for a PhD position in my lab at the University of Texas at Arlington (http://www.uta.edu/biology/passy/lab/home.html). The successful applicant is expected to have expertise in invertebrate or fish ecology and a strong statistical background. She/he will further develop the hierarchical theory of macroecology (SI Passy, 2012, Ecology Letters 15: 923-934, http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/j.1461-0248.2012.01809.x/pdf) by exploring how local to regional environmental factors constrain the body size, abundance, and distribution of macroinvertebrates and fish across functional guilds. The project will be at the interface of macroecology and conservation. To apply, please e-mail your CV, a statement of research interests, GRE scores, TOEFL scores for international students, and the names and contact information of three references to Dr. Sophia Passy ([email protected]<mailto:[email protected]>). Review of applications will begin immediately.
