A postdoctoral research associate position is available in the entomology 
department at Purdue University to quantify the effects of neonicotinoid seed 
treatments of corn and soybeans both within and outside agro-ecosystems.

The successful candidate will be a highly-motivated, independent individual 
capable of using a range of field and laboratory techniques to investigate how 
the widespread use of these persistent, systemic compounds in field crop 
systems influence production fields and the surrounding landscape. Study 
organisms will include both pest and non-pest arthropod taxa, with particular 
emphasis on both native and managed pollinators. Some experience with applied 
research in agricultural systems is preferred, love of field research is a 
must. Experience working with landscape level analyses and/or pollination 
biology would also be beneficial. Excellent organizational and communication 
skills are a must, as there is an expectation that results of the work will be 
transmitted at a variety of stakeholder meetings and published in peer-reviewed 
journals. Successful applicants should have obtained a Ph.D. within the last 4 
years in entomology or a closely related area. A valid driver’s license is 
required. Salary and benefits package will be competitive and depend upon 
experience and qualifications. The initial appointment will be for one year, 
with the potential for renewal for at least one additional year.
