The Swenson Lab at Michigan State University is seeking 1-2 PhD students to join the lab in the Fall of 2013. The Lab investigates the ecology and evolution of tropical and temperate trees. We specifically focus on integrating functional trait, phylogenetic and transcriptomic data with information regarding the distribution and dynamics of species. Applicants interested in one or all of these approaches are most welcome to apply.
The Swenson Lab (www.msu.edu/~swensonn/) is in the Department of Plant Biology at Michigan State (www.plantbiology.msu.edu/). Students would also be a part of the Michigan State Ecology, Evolutionary Biology and Behavior Interdisciplinary Graduate Program (http://eebb.msu.edu/). Competitive one and two year plant science fellowships are possible for excellent applicants (http://grad.msu.edu/plantscience/). If you are interested, please contact Dr. Nate Swenson ([email protected]) including a statement of your research interests/goals and a CV.
