Have had a nice working relationship with the CCC in Tortuguero, Costa Rica for
years. One thing that they have asked from our Groups is to spend some time
removing debris....logs, etc. from their Beaches. Obviously, it is an
impedement to Female Sea Turtles coming ashore after breeding, and the project
in front of them to build a nest and lay eggs.

Had a Professor, not naming names here....ask me to remove that from His
Group's itinerary. He just didn't see the need. Sometimes the Educated are not
so Educated?

CCC, well their history speaks for itself. They are a more hands-off kind of
experience, unless you want to pay their fees and do an Internship. I
understand completely. CCC, the late Archie Carr, Ph.D. have set the bar for
Sea Turtle Conservation world-wide. Great stuff.

In the past, have been opposed to Sea Turtle Tourism. Have changed my attitude
here, and not because of $.

Widecast.org is doing some great things in Costa Rica, and expanding throughout
the Caribbean.

We could send people to either organization and have. Widecast.org could offer
a short-term Group/Individual a bit more of hands-on experience.

Much to say about Tortuguero, far beyond Sea Turtles. My thoughts only and
based on a great deal of experience....more People go to Tortuguero for the
Incredible Wildlife you can see here vs. Sea Turtles.

Contact me about either option and I'm sure some of their folks are on this
list.

Thank you.
