I am seeking applicants for the University of Calgary Killam Postdoctoral Fellowship. This is a prestigious, competitive award, funded by the Killam Foundation. The purpose is to allow the Fellow to develop his or her own research program, under the guidance of a faculty sponsor. The Fellow also is expected to contribute to the intellectual life of the university by giving a research seminar and possibly doing a bit of guest lecturing.
It's a 2-year award. Salary $45,000/year plus health benefits and a $6000 research/moving allowance. Start date May 1-Sept. 1 2013. Open to applicants of any nationality, with no preference for Canadians. To be eligible, you must have received, or anticipate receiving, your PhD no more than 2 years before your start date. For further details, go here: http://www.ucalgary.ca/killam/postdoctoral An ideal applicant for my lab would be someone with strong mathematical, computational, and/or programming skills, whose interests overlap somewhat with mine: question-driven work in population, community, and eco-evolutionary dynamics. My hope would be that you would pursue your own research as well as collaborating with me on some project of mutual interest (which need not be a project currently ongoing in my lab). For more on my lab, go here: http://homepages.ucalgary.ca/~jefox/Home.htm I can only support one candidate. If you are interested, please contact me ASAP, at the latest by early Jan. Please include a letter of interest, CV, and contact details for three references. -Jeremy Fox ([email protected])
