Hello. I am forwarding a request from one of my undergraduate research students. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Amber Rice (Lehigh University) SOUTH TEXAS SPEA BOMBIFRONS TISSUE SOUGHT I am an undergraduate student at Lehigh University working on an independent research project. I am studying a disjunct population of Plains spadefoot toads (Spea bombifrons) found in South Texas. I am studying genetic divergence between this population and populations from the remainder of the range. I have access to tissue samples from many locations except for this southern Texas region. Most museum samples I have found are in formalin, which makes DNA work more difficult. I would appreciate hearing from anyone who would be willing to share tissue samples (fresh or ethanol-preserved) of S. bombifrons from any of the following counties: Aransas, Bee, Brooks, Cameron, Dimmit, Duval, Goliad, Hidalgo, Jim Hogg, Jim Wells, Kenedy, Kleberg, La Salle, Live Oak, McMullen, Nueces, Refugio, San Patricio, Starr, Webb, Willacy, Zapata. Any help will be greatly appreciated! Please contact me at: [email protected] Thank you in advance for your help. Rebecca Silverman
