The Virginia Tech Department of Forest Resources and Environmental Conservation is now soliciting abstracts for:
The Fifth Annual FREC Graduate Research Symposium This is the 2nd call for abstracts. Date: Tuesday, April 2nd, 2013 Time: 9am to 5pm Place: Fralin Atrium, Virginia Tech campus, Blacksburg, Virginia There is no registration fee; food and accommodations are provided. We enjoyed having students from WVU, Kentucky, UVA and Tennessee participate last year and hope that even more schools will be able to attend this year! Please send your abstracts (maxiumum of 250 words) to Maura Leveroos ([email protected]) by March 1st, 2013. Presentations can be oral or poster (please indicate your preference). The symposium will include diverse disciplines, including forestry, fisheries and wildlife, hydrology, soil science, geospatial analysis and remote sensing, social sciences, and more. Presentations will be judged and prizes awarded in multiple categories. Presented research can be proposals, continuing work, or final projects.
