Recruitment # 2013-03-6497 Salary Range: $8,000 - $8,326 per month Located in Olympia, Washington Full-time, exempt position. Open until filled; First review begins March 25, 2013. POSITION PROFILE: The Deputy Supervisor for Resource Protection & Administration reports directly to the DNR Department Supervisor and serves at the pleasure of the, state-wide elected, Commissioner of Public Lands. As a member of the executive team, the successful candidate will provide strategic and tactical oversight to the following Programs: *Resource Protection Division including all USDA Forest Service State and Private Forestry programs (except Forest Legacy and Economic Action), forest health, and wild land fire protection; *Human Resources Division *Information Technology Division *Financial Management Division *Engineering Division This position will serve as an advisor to the Commissioner of Public Lands and the Executive Management Team on broad natural resource, resource protection, and administrative policy issues. Duties include the following responsibilities: *Lead five Exempt Management Service program managers in developing strategic vision and plans for programs and program delivery. *Supervise 5 direct reports. *Exercise authorities outlined in the delegation of authority from the Commissioner of Public Lands. *Review, approve, and advise on agency policy, legislative, and budget proposals from the Resource Protection and Administrative programs. *Approve organizational structures recommended by program managers. *Monitor program performance on a continuous basis.
