A time limited lecturer position in environmental conservation is
available in the Department of Environmental Studies at the
University of North Carolina Wilmington. Start date is August 15,
2013 for a full time, one academic year position. The position will
be responsible for developing and teaching graduate and undergraduate
courses in conservation and related areas, as well as supporting the
current environmental studies curriculum. The preferred candidate's
teaching would address aspects of environmental conservation issues
in one or more southeastern U.S. ecosystems and complement existing
expertise in the department. The successful candidate must have a
minimum of a Master's degree or equivalent in environmental science,
conservation biology, ecology, or related discipline, have a strong
commitment to teaching, and be able to work in an interdisciplinary
academic context. Teaching duties include introductory courses as
well as upper division conservation courses, and additional upper
level and graduate courses developed in his or her area of expertise.
UNCW is located five miles from the Atlantic Ocean on a beautiful
656-acre campus in the historic port city of Wilmington on the Cape
Fear River. The University currently enrolls more than 13,000
