The successful candidate will participate in a macroalgal molecular systematics project funded by The National Science Foundation. This is a non-tenure track position on a 12-month appointment and renewable based on availability, funding, and performance. The candidate will be involved in the generation, sequencing and analyses of a multigene database. The candidate will also help the PI mentoring graduate and undergraduate students, and managing an active lab working on algal biodiversity, systematics, and genome evolution. The candidate will have the opportunity to develop collaborative research project(s) in the area of algal systematics. Minimum qualifications: 1) A Ph.D. in biology or related field; 2) previous research experience and publication record; and 3) strong interpersonal and writing skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
