The Organization for Tropical Studies (OTS) has been inspired by the novel method of education of the Marine By Catch Twitter TeachIn developed by David Shiffman (http://storify.com/WhySharksMatter/bycatchteachin) and by the upcoming LANDFIRE Twitter TeachIn developed by Randy Swaty (https://twitter.com/nature_LANDFIRE).
OTS will host its first Twitter TeachIn as part of a series called OTS- inars: Education Generating Science. The first OTS twittinar will discuss the topic: BIODIVERSITY CONSERVATION: INDIGENOUS PEOPLES PERSPECTIVE. The discussion will be hosted on Friday April 26, 1 p.m. Central Time, 2 p.m. Eastern Time.
