Dear Friends,
We are part of a non-profit organization trying to implement a Training Center on Conservation and Sustainable Development at the High Land Amazon basin in Peru. The center is located in Oxapampa, (selva central), surrounded by 12.5 ha of cloud forest, two streams, riparian forest, a reforested area, cultivation areas with local fruit crops and shaded-grown coffee. Our center is located in the buffer zone of the Yanachaga Chemillén National Park at the Amazon basin, which covers approximately 120,000ha. Since 2010 the province of Oxapampa contains the Biosphere Reserve Oxapampa, Ashaninka, Yanesha. At the center, we provide training for local communities, national and international visitors and set up models of sustainable activities to be replicated. We need your help and advices in order to implement the center. Currently we have an elevated platform for students/groups and a researcher´s house. We also have dry toilets and hot showers. However, we need to finish the rooms for our students and a construct a kitchen/feeding area. We are looking for different types of helps (individual or business donations, sponsors, in-kind donations, investors, etc.). We are open to donations, even small donations can help us very much. We also accept books and equipment (gps, lab equipment, computers, field equipment, etc) that can be useful for our students. We have a PoBox in Miami and we can receive it there.
