Internship positions are available for intensive African wild dog
(Lycaon pictus) behavioral studies conducted in Namibia from mid August
until mid/end of September 2013.  Daily responsibilities include using
radio telemetry and tracking skills to locate a pack of African wild
dogs to collect data on social interactions, hierarchy/status, and
hunting and kill site observations and analysis.  Observations will be
made daily from a 4x4 vehicle as well as on foot.  Other activities
during the internship may include hands on interactions with cheetahs,
leopard cubs, and other African wildlife orphaned or in the process of
rehabilitation.

Interns must be flexible with sleeping and cooking arrangements, willing
to make observations at any hour, and comfortable viewing predator/prey
interactions and outcomes.  Accommodations may include dorm style
lodging as well as tent camping.  Vegetarian meals are available daily. 
Price of the internship is $3,995, which includes round trip airfare
from JFK, New York to Johannesburg South Africa, (where you will be
transported by vehicle to Namibia), all food, lodging, and visa fees. 
Interns may be responsible for one way flight from Windhoek to
Johannesburg at project's end, averaging between $250 - $300.
