Dear Colleague, We bring to your attention a session we are convening at the Fall AGU Meeting on 9-13 December 2013 in San Francisco, A040. Measurements, Modeling, and Evaluation of Emissions. Please contribute an abstract to this session and share with your colleagues.
Session Description: Accurate emissions estimates of ozone/aerosol precursors, greenhouse gases, and other trace species are indispensable for understanding both air quality and climate change. This session focuses on observations-based approaches to assess emissions from anthropogenic, biogenic, wildfire and dust sources. The following topics are especially encouraged: quantifying emissions and their variability at a variety of spatial and temporal scales; comparing observational constraints with bottom-up emissions approaches; building synergies between climate and air quality emissions studies; evaluating emissions from spatially mixed sources, e.g., urban areas; assessing the use of bottom-up vs measurements-based emissions for regulatory applications. https://fallmeeting.agu.org/2013/scientific-program/session-search/sessions/a040-measurements-modeling-and-evaluation-of-emissions-2/ This session is sponsored by the Global Emissions InitiAtive, http://www.geiacenter.org/, as part of its commitment to facilitating emissions research. Abstract submission is now available at http://fallmeeting.agu.org/2013/. The deadline for receipt of abstracts is 6 August 23:59 EDT/03:59 +1 GMT. The first author must be an AGU member or sponsored by a member. AGU will schedule this session as either oral or poster or both, depending on the number and quality of the abstracts submitted. Authors will be informed in September regarding the date and format (oral or poster) of their paper. Sincerely, Gregory Frost (NOAA, University of Colorado) Lucy Hutyra (Boston University) Monika Kopacz (NOAA)
