and Robert Gustafson

San Diego County Native Plants by James Lightner

The Jepson Manual: Vascular Plants of California by Baldwin, et. al.

And depending on WHERE in California you are, there are other, similar
books to check out. Will you be working on the coast, foothills, mountains
or desert?
