Research Technician: Fish and Aquatic Ecology Purdue University, Department of Forestry and Natural Resources West Lafayette, IN, USA
Description: Position available to participate in various research and extension projects targeting fish ecology and foodweb processes in the Great Lakes. Incumbent will process samples (zooplankton, benthic invertebrate, ichthyoplankton, fish diets), plan and conduct field sampling, help supervise undergraduate research assistants, and help prepare publications and presentations. Extension activities will be conducted in collaboration with the Illinois-Indiana Sea Grant Program. Qualifications: Minimum qualifications include a BS (MS preferred) and one year of experience in field or laboratory ecological research. Incumbent should be able to identify freshwater invertebrates, conduct fisheries field surveys and safely operate a boat. Salary: Salary is dependent on qualifications and experience. At a minimum, the salary will exceed $32K. This is a salaried position with benefits. Start date: Exact start date is negotiable (can start sometime from September-December 2013).
