*Call for Synthesis Research Proposals: Biodiversity & Ecosystem Services*
** ** The National Socio-Environmental Synthesis Center (SESYNC)—a nationally-recognized University of Maryland research center—is pleased to announce available funding for research projects that bring together data, ideas, theories, or models to address critical socio-environmental questions at the interface of biodiversity and ecosystem services.**** ** ** This call for proposals is part of a collaborative, trans-Atlantic partnership with the Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research (UFZ) and the Synthesis Centre (sDiv) within the German Centre for Integrative Biodiversity Research, both located in Leipzig, Germany. Proposals are welcome from investigators whose home institutions are anywhere in the world—i.e., this call is not limited to U.S. or German investigators.**** ** ** Participants are expected to spend time at each of the three centers (SESYNC, UFZ, and sDiv) working with their synthesis team.
