I am a senior at the State University of New York at Oswego and am currently undergoing an intensive survey of the ticks in the central NY region. A fellow student and I have teamed up with two of our professors to study the prevalence of both the Borrelia and Babesia microbes. We are trying to use PCR to analyze the ticks and we require a sample of Babesia for our PCR/positive control. I have sent out a few e-mails to health boards, CDC, and other scientific literature and have gotten little help. If anyone knows where, or can help us obtain a sample that would be very helpful! We are trying to have this experiment published in a journal which would be excellent for all of us involved. Thank you all for your time!
