GEOSPATIAL SCIENCE. Assistant Professor. The College of Earth, Ocean, and Atmospheric Sciences (CEOAS) at Oregon State University in Corvallis, Oregon invites applications for a full-time 9-month (1.0 FTE) or full-time 12-month (0.75 FTE) tenure-track position in geospatial science. We seek a colleague who will develop and synthesize cutting-edge techniques for modeling and analysis applied to areas of excellence in CEOAS including climate change; natural hazards; marine and coastal resource management; resources and planning, and water resources management. Incumbent will be a member of the faculty of the Geography program and will interact with colleagues in the geospatial science community and other programs at OSU. Research foci could include development of fundamental methods in geospatial models, statistics, and/or algorithms. Teaching will include GIScience, programming, and modeling. Applicants should have a PhD (by the start of employment) in Geography or a closely related discipline; demonstrated record of scholarship in geospatial science, including a significant record of publication and evidence of the capacity to obtain research funding, and a demonstrated record of successful collaborations; demonstrated commitment to educational equity; experience with fundamental methods and/or theory of geospatial science; experience or potential in teaching advanced GIScience, programming, and modeling; commitment to teaching and advising excellence; and strong communication and interpersonal skills.
