To whom it may concern, I am a recent college graduate with a BA in Ecology. I plan on attending graduate school in the fall of 2014, but I have a few months between my current job and graduate school. My undergraduate advisors have constantly impressed upon me the importance of communicating science. After hearing Malala Yousafzai's speeches about the importance of education for women, I am interested in trying to inspire young girls and get them interested in science and mathematics in impoverished areas of the globe. In researching various programs, I have found that most require a $4000-6000 fee, a price that I as a student cannot afford. I can cover the cost of a flight and cheap room and board. Furthermore, most programs are looking for English teachers rather than scientists. I would be working with a friend who will have a degree in ESL teaching. Does anyone know of any programs that work with science education around the globe?
Thank you very much, Zoe Getman-Pickering [email protected]
