The Meyerson Lab in plant invasion and restoration ecology at the University of Rhode Island is seeking a graduate student (M.S.) to work on the management of invasive species on road sides in Rhode Island. The goal of the project is to determine whether removal of invasive species and management for native species along roadsides is appropriate in terms of storm water pollutant removal and feasible under reduced mowing regimes
This position is fully funded for two years by the Rhode Island Department of Transportation and includes summer stipend and research funding. This position requires both field work and laboratory analysis. Students should have a strong academic background and excellent written, verbal and analytic skills. Students with backgrounds in ecology, botany, hydrology, and ecosystem ecology are particularly encouraged to apply. This position will begin in January 2014. Please respond to Laura A.
