Hi Folks,

This opportunity might interest early-career scientists, graduate students
and post docs attending AGU.

*FameLab: Get Involved in Science Communication in Action*

Calling all grad students, postdocs, and early-career faculty: Passionate
about science communication? Come compete in the
FameLab<http://famelab-eeb.arc.nasa.gov/competitions/2013-agu-december/>
regional
heat at Fall Meeting—a fun-filled day of competition, coaching, and
camaraderie that’s all about communicating with the public.

How it works: you prepare two three-minute, PowerPoint-free talks, present
one of them to a panel of judges in the morning, and participate in a free
afternoon communications workshop. In the evening, the winners of the
morning session get to give a second talk to a public audience and the
judges.

Join us on Sunday, 8 December to hone your skills, interact with
like-minded scientists, and learn from communication specialists. Carl
Sagan would want you to do it.
