Postdoctoral Position in Agroecology/Climate Change

University of Minnesota -- Twin Cities

The Department of Agronomy and Plant Genetics seeks a broadly trained,
agroecology-oriented scientist to fill a two-year postdoctoral associate
position. This person will participate in a USDA-funded project *Precision
Zonal Management Systems for Resilient Cereal Yields and Ecosystem Services
Under Variable Climates*. Precision zonal management (PZM) aims to provide
new options for achieving high grain yields while also improving key
processes that affect agroecological functioning of soils in variable
climates. This scientist will focus on analysis of experimental PZM systems
but there are also opportunities to participate in field and laboratory
research. This position is based in Nick Jordan’s lab at UMN, but will
involve interactions with a highly-multidisciplinary project team at
multiple universities. Required qualifications include: (1) a PhD in
agroecology, agronomy, soil science, or a related discipline, (2)
experience and interest in integrative agroecological research, 3)
substantial experience and interest in working with analysis and
interpretation of complex datasets. Some experience with multivariate
analysis is strongly preferred. Start date is flexible, beginning January
1, 2014. Salary and benefits are competitive. Applicants should e-mail a
single pdf file that includes a letter of interest discussing relevant
research experience and interests, CV, and contact information for three
references to Nick Jordan (*[email protected] <[email protected]>*). Please
use an email subject line of, “UMN PZM Postdoc Application”. Review of
applications will begin immediately; however, applications will be accepted
until the position is filled. The University of Minnesota is an EEO/AA
employer and educator.
