The Castro-Santos Lab at the USGS’ S.O. Conte Anadromous Fish Research
Center (CAFRC) is seeking a highly qualified applicant for a funded PhD
position in behavioral ecology of river herring.  The study focuses on
freshwater migration of alewife, with particular emphasis on responses to
predators at migratory barriers.  Qualified candidates should have strong
academic and quantitative skills and be adept at field work including boat
work in the near-shore marine environment.  The study will be performed at
the Cape Cod National Seashore, and the student will be collocated at
CAFRC/UMass Amherst and the School of Marine Science and Technology (UMass
