A Ph.D. assistantship for fall 2014 is available in the Dept. of
Horticulture at Virginia Tech in the field of Sustainable
Agriculture/Agroecology. Areas of interest may include: climate change,
pest management, land-use change, ecosystem services, and local food systems.
I am looking for one or two self-motivated students who are
comfortable working independently and would like to design their own research
programs. Excellent GRE and GPA scores, and interest in agriculture and
interdisciplinary research required.
Two to three years of GRA support and additional TA assistance
plus tuition and health care coverage is available. Exceptional students
wishing to pursue an M.S. will be considered for TA assistantships.
Please contact Megan O'Rourke at [email protected] with a copy of your cv and a
description of your research ideas. List your GRE
and GPA in the body of the email. A full application for graduate school
will be due Jan. 15, 2014.
