The Department of Ecology, Evolution and Organismal Biology at Iowa State University invites applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level in Microbial Ecology and Evolution to begin fall 2014. We seek a creative individual investigating microbial communities and microbiomes. Possible research areas may include: ecology and evolution of microbial communities; interactions of microbiomes with host phenotypes, and their change over time; mechanisms underlying the evolution and dynamics of microbiomes; and meta- and functional genomics, metabolomics, or metagenome evolution of microbial communities.
Successful candidates will establish a vibrant, extramurally funded research program and will skillfully contribute to undergraduate and graduate education, including courses in their area(s) of expertise.
