Hello all! Two exciting employment opportunities have opened up at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville that may be of interest to this group. If you have any questions about either, please contact Evan Larson via email at [email protected].
The first is a tenure-track faculty position in GIS and Physical Geography with responsibilities split between teaching and research. Teaching responsibilities will include basic and advanced courses in GIS, preferably with substantial field components, taught to students from a range of majors including geography, biology, engineering, reclamation/environmental restoration, among others. Research responsibilities will include managing the GIS lab as a campus resource and establishing a research program that explicitly incorporates undergraduate students. Ideally, the research will complement and contribute to the research themes of the TREES Lab (www3.uwplatt.edu/trees). This is an exciting opportunity to enhance the opportunities for students available at UW-Platteville and for someone looking to teach and conduct research in an undergraduate setting. A detailed job posting is available here: http://www.uwplatt.edu/pers/employ/Fac-Geography.htm The second position is Grants Specialist in the UW-Platteville Office of Research and Sponsored Programs. The responsibilities of this position include helping UW-Platteville faculty identify and pursue grant opportunities. This position is open to applicants from any background as long as they have strong communication, writing, and organizational skills. The full job posting is available here: http://www.uwplatt.edu/pers/employ/AS-ORSP-GrntSpec.htm Happy Holidays! Becky Doyle-Morin Assistant Professor of Biology UW-Platteville
