Hi all, Was wondering if anyone had any advise on how to measure substrate moisture content.
The substrate is a ~1m square piece of thin (~3mm) felt, and I want to non-invasively measure the moisture content on the surface at several places. I want to do this repeatedly across time. I was hoping to find an instrument that would allow me to do this remotely (like infrared thermometers do for temperature) but I'm not sure this technology exists yet? Another option would be a small piece of material I could lay over the substrate that would change color depending on its wetness. I could do this with silica gel, but the color change doesn't seem very quantitative. Any thoughts?
