We've also been talking about this issue recently on our graduate student blog: BioDiverse Perspectives , and we recently featured two posts about Donald Maier's book and talk "What's so good about biodiversity?" by graduate students in environmental philosophy and ecology.

We've been trying to tackle this question not only by asking graduate students, but also by promoting discussion with research scientists in biodiversity science, for instance, Bob Paine and Peter Kareiva.

We would definitely love to hear from anyone who wants to join the conversation!
