1. Application Specialist / Biologist Full Time - Salary Spencer, Massachusetts Lycott Environmental, Inc. (www.lycott.com) is seeking a motivated individual to work with the Technical Applications Manager and collaborate with the Biology team to conduct invasive and nuisance aquatic vegetation management via surveys, chemical applications and preparation of regulatory agency reports and permits. Essential functions include: Maintains client portfolio Develops and coach seasonal chemical application technicians Operates and maintains application equipment Supports field data collection and reporting Maintains work areas Individual must demonstrate: Excellent interpersonal and team building skills Effective oral and written communication skills Strong organizational and project management experience Working knowledge of aquatic ecosystem and flora / fauna of the Northeast in general Proficiency with the identification of aquatic and wetland plant species in the Northeast Proficiency with the use of a GPS and other data collecting and sampling devices Proficiency with computer hardware and software applications including mapping, spreadsheet, word processing, database and email programs Qualifications: Two years experience as an assistant to an applicator Associates degree or higher in biology or environmental science or equivalent experience in an environmental discipline Able to lift 50 lbs. in a repetitious manner Possess one or more State pesticide applicator licenses, a boater safety certificate and a valid driver's license with a good driving record Experience with the operation of a pick-up truck towing a trailer Experience with GIS mapping programs, specifically Arc GIS 9.3.1 or higher preferred Salary is commensurate with experience.
