The office of Migratory Bird Management, U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service, will
be hiring biological technicians for the 2014 field season. We are looking
for experienced seabird observers who can go to sea, sometimes for weeks at
a time. In addition to potential surveys from large research vessels in the
Bering and Chukchi seas, MBM will be conducting its July survey of Prince
William Sound this year. The PWS survey is conducted from three 25 ft
vessels and may require camping and more exposure to the elements. There
is potential to split a bio-tech's position between projects to extend the
appointment, depending on scheduling of the pelagic trips. These vacancy
announcements close on February 19, so if you're not sure yet, we suggest
you get on the register now and you'll have time to think about it.

For more information on these positions you can contact any of the
following: Robb Kaler ([email protected]), Kathy Kuletz (
[email protected]), David Irons ([email protected]), Liz Labunski (
[email protected]).
