Dear Friends and Colleagues, We wanted to reach out to you and remind you of the approaching application deadline for the Woodstoich III conference taking place in Sydney, August 2014.
This is a great opportunity for smart, ambitious, and creative early career researchers to meet and work with like-minded colleagues. Participants (postdocs and advanced PhD students) will be selected to form 4-5 working groupsto synthesize and explore promising connections between major ecological or evolutionary theories and either ecological stoichiometry or nutritional geometry or both. These two frameworks consider how ratios of elements and nutrients affect ecological and biological function from genes, to organisms, to ecosystems. A handful of senior scientists will be invited to join the conference and lend their expertise to the working groups. For several months prior to the conference each group will work on a manuscript, which will be finalized at the conference and then sent for expedited review. That day, participants will enjoy an adventure day in Sydney. Groups will submit revisions the final morning of the conference. For more information: Woodstoich.org or contact [email protected]. Application deadline: Feb. 16, 2014. All the best, Woodstoich organizing team: Bob Sterner (U of Minnesota) David Raubenheimer (U of Sydney) Arianne Cease (U of Sydney) Jim Hood (Montana State University)
