Get this!  It made me laugh my butt off.
Impact factor as calculated by Thomson Reuters is more predictive of the
frequency of papers being retracted post-publication than it is predictive
of if a paper will be cited!!!

Of course, I guess that has something to do with impact factor (essentially
a mean) being a statistically inappropriate descriptive stat for a
non-parametric distribution (power curve is it?) for article citation
distribution.
