U.S. GEOLOGICAL SURVEY, COLORADO PLATEAU RESEARCH STATION IN FLAGSTAFF, ARIZONA HAS 2 POSITIONS OPEN FOR FULL-TIME TEMPORARY BIOLOGICAL SCIENCE TECHNICIANS. Open to U.S. Citizens only.
This notice will be open from Feb 25 - March 11, 2014. Applications must be received by 5pm Arizona (MST) time. These positions are not to exceed 180 days in length. MAJOR DUTIES: This position will serve as a member of a field-data collection crew conducting measurement and collecting data about the soil conditions and vegetation structure and function in sagebrush ecosystems across the western U.S. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Work is physically demanding and includes walking, bending, climbing, and lifting of equipment up to 50 lbs. while in the field, sometimes during adverse conditions. Must be able to travel and spend up to two weeks at a time in remote field locations that may not have facilities. QUALIFICATIONS: To qualify for this position at a GG-4 level you must possess at least 6 months of field party experience or 2 years of subprofessional experience, or 1 year college course work related to the field of employment.
