Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Research Scholar in mathematical or theoretical disease ecology working with Dr. Kevin Gross at North Carolina State University in Raleigh, NC. The postdoc will join an NSF-funded team of collaborators engaged in the study of the community ecology of plant viruses. We seek a researcher interested in developing theory that pertains broadly to the maintenance, dynamics, or consequences of pathogen diversity in ecological communities. This position provides full funding without teaching requirements at a competitive salary for up to 2 years. Start date is negotiable, and the position may begin as early as summer 2014.
A Ph.D. in biology, mathematics, or a related field is required. Criteria for selection include demonstrated research ability in mathematical or theoretical biology, and an interest in pathogen ecology. Verbal and written communication skills are also important.
