R Boot Camp - Hosted by Bamfield Marine Sciences Centre and the University of Victoria Centre for Forest Biology Sunday, April 6 Thursday, April 10, 2014, at BMSC, BC, Canada.
Registration deadline is 31 March, see here for details: http://www.bms.bc.ca/university/RBootCamp.html This 4-day workshop (Sunday noon to Thursday noon) is targeted at students and professionals (including upper-level undergraduates, post-docs and faculty). A basic background in biostatistics will be assumed. Participants are welcome to bring data analysis problems with them that they wish to tackle during the workshop. Workshop Description: The statistical language R is open-source software, freely available and computer platform independent. R is well supported by an extensive community and is powerful enough to thoroughly analyze even the most complicated experimental design. As such, a foundation in the use of R will provide a researcher with the wherewithal for all future data analysis needs. This R Boot Camp will be 4 days of hands-on work with R, providing participants with both the basics of using R (data manipulation, graphing, standard statistics) and the know-how to tap into the extensive resources available so they are empowered for future analysis needs
