TITLE:          Postdoctoral Associate

DURATION:       Full –time, benefitted position, estimated start date July 
1, 2014, for approx 1.5+year term
 
SALARY:         Commensurate with experience

DUTIES:         We are recruiting a Postdoctoral Associate to join a 
collaborative, graduate training project—The GLEON Graduate Student 
Fellowship Program (GLEON FP). The GLEON FP will engage diverse graduate 
students and researchers from multiple disciplines, as well as the Global 
Lake Ecological Observatory Network (GLEON). The program's primary goal is 
to train a cohort of graduate students in network science: the mechanics of 
handling and synthesizing high frequency data as well as tools for 
conducting network science across cultures. Another primary responsibility 
of the Postdoctoral Associate will be to help design and lead—along with 
domain experts, and an advisory team—graduate student workshops.  It is 
anticipated that the postdoctoral associate will lead research and 
subsequent publication(s) on an aspect of this work commensurate with 
interests and experience. The individual will work with Principal 
Investigators Drs. K. Weathers (Cary Institute), and P. Hanson (University 
of Wisconsin, Madison).  

BACKGROUND:     A Ph.D. in ecosystem science, information or team science, 
science education, or related interdisciplinary area; excellent 
communication (oral and written) and facilitation skills; enthusiasm for 
analysis and interpretation of high frequency data and/or organizational 
psychology; programming experience, especially R, is required.
        
Duties will be performed primarily in Wisconsin, with occasional visits to 
Millbrook, NY. Successful candidate will be flexible to travel as needed 
for workshops.
