Hello All, I wanted to share with you what I learned as a result of my post asking about automated software for behavior analysis and/or motion detection within videos. Thanks to the many people who responded!

However, National Instruments (NI), which makes LabView, has good tech support. An article with useful references: Moll, RJ, Millspaugh, JJ, Beringer, J, Sartwell, J, and He, Z. 2007. Several people also mentioned that it shouldn't be too difficult to write an algorithm to detect motion within videos, using programs such as Matlab or Python. However, challenges may arise from handling large-sized videos. If you are a non-technical person like me, collaborations with programmers could prove fruitful!
