Colleagues, Every year, the Vegetation Section of the Ecological Society of America awards the Ton Damman Award to the best oral presentation by a graduate student (or very recent graduate student) at the ESA meeting. The cash award is $500.
Information about the award is given below (some of the data on the web sites is out of date, due to problems with the web site). If you are a graduate student or know of a graduate student who is interested, please pass this message on to them. There are two very important points I want to emphasize: 1) You *must* notify the Section secretary, Loretta Battaglia (email address given below), by JULY 15TH, that you are applying. 2) To qualify, the talk must be about VEGETATION SCIENCE (aka PLANTS).
