Hello all, I've been designing simple motion detection approaches for finding potential motion frames in fixed position video. This application has important uses for biological monitoring and a variety of ecological and evolutionary questions. I'm reaching out to the ecolog community to find a diverse group of short videos with known motion events to test the generality of the approach.
Videos should have been shot from a fixed position, and sometime during the video an biological object of interest enters/leaves the frame. For ease of transfer, i'd prefer short videos, but for longer videos, i can arrange a temporary dropbox link. If you send me a file, please supply a citation I should use. Please do not send any video clip that cannot be used as part of a supplementary material in a peer-reviewed article, although direct publication of the clips may not be needed in all cases. These clips will greatly speed up beta development of the approach, which will be available to the broader community once completed. I appreciate the help, Ben Weinstein -- Ben Weinstein PhD Candidate Ecology and Evolution Stony Brook University http://benweinstein.weebly.com/
