Dear Colleagues,

We invite your participation in the below AGU session intended to bring
together physical and biological scientists working in fluvial
environments:

Advances in the Science and Communication of Biophysical Interactions in
Riverine Landscapes (1597)

The geomorphology and ecology of rivers are shaped by a suite of
biophysical interactions that influence system response to disturbance and
restoration. This session explores these interactions over space and time,
addressing both the natural phenomena and management actions that modify
feedbacks between physical processes and biological communities in rivers
and floodplains. In addition to contributions within this broad theme, we
seek focused presentations on communicating restoration science to
managers, including results of models to support ecology-based restoration,
reduce key uncertainties, and examples of successful collaborations between
scientists and managers to implement scientific models and frameworks.

Invited presenters are Jack Schmidt (Utah State University, USGS), Klement
Tockner (Leibniz-Institute of Freshwater Ecology and Inland Fisheries) and
David Sear (U of Southampton).

Abstracts are due August 6th 2014 (http://fallmeeting.agu.org/2014/), with
the Fall Meeting being held December 15th-19th 2014 in San Francisco.

Best wishes,
Desirée Tullos (Oregon State University)
John M. Buffington (USFS)
Tim Beechie (NOAA Fisheries, Seattle)
Matt Collins (NOAA Fisheries, Gloucester)
Lee Harrison (NOAA Fisheries, Santa Cruz)
Hamish Moir (CBEC Eco-Engineering, Alford, Scotland)
