ii. Central European cultural landscapes
iii. Climate-change biogeography
iv. Conservation biogeography
v. Pre-quaternary paleoecology and biogeography
vi. Quaternary paleoecology
vii. Phylogeography
viii. Marine biogeography
ix. Natural disturbance biogeography
x. Global-scale biogeography
xi. Hot topics in biogeography

Dr. Daniel Simberloff will give a keynote lecture after receiving the Alfred
Russel Wallace Award,
recognizing his lifetime of outstanding contributions to biogeography.
&
Dr. Daniel L. Rabosky will give a keynote lecture after receiving the MacArthur
& Wilson Award,
recognizing an early-research individual for a notable, innovative contribution
to biogeography.

On the 8th & 12th of January, four WORKSHOPS will be held:
1) Toward the 'next generation' of species distribution modeling, emerging
themes and methods
2) Free your mind: Model Comparison and model testing in historical
biogeography with the R
package 'BioGeoBEARS'
3) An overview of IPBES and Contributions from Biogeographers
4) Integrative analysis of spatial biodiversity data and Map of Life

Also on the 8th & 12th of January, arranged FIELD TRIPS will visit a number of
Bayreuth's wonderful
natural, and/or cultural locations, exploring cultural diversity, biodiversity
and beerdiversity of the
area.
