A new initiative in Adaptation to Changing Environments (ACE)
<http://www.adaptation.ethz.ch> at ETH Zurich invites applicants for up to 7
postdoctoral fellowships and 4 PhD fellowships in the areas of ecology,
evolution, and genomics. ACE has been established to connect the rapidly
increasing availability of genomic information to ecological dynamics, as
mediated by rapid evolutionary change. Postdocs, graduate students and
faculty will interact in a single center located on the ETH campus in
Zurich. Those interested in applying their backgrounds in ecology,
evolution, and genomics to the goals of the center are encouraged to apply.

The following topical areas are emphasized for this first round of applicants:
Genomics of ecologically relevant traits
Eco-evolutionary dynamics of species interactions
Evolutionary responses to changing environments

Projects will range from the theoretical to empirical, and will be conducted
in collaboration with several ETH faculty participating in ACE (see
http://www.adaptation.ethz.ch). Postdoctoral positions are initially for two
years with the possibility for renewal, and PhD fellowships are for three
years. Work-related interactions will be in English and salaries are
adequate to take advantage of the high quality of life in Zurich.
Requirements for prospective postdocs include a PhD degree in ecology,
evolution, bioinformatics or a closely related discipline, high-quality
publications, fluency in English, and good communication skills. PhD
applicants should have a Master degree or equivalent in biology,
environmental sciences or bioinformatics.

Your application includes a research statement, including one to two
paragraphs describing how your research interests relate to the center and
associated faculty, a curriculum vitae, and the contact information for
three references. Application review will begin October 15, 2014, and
continue until the positions are filled. Applications must be submitted
online through http://www.adaptation.ethz.ch/open-positions.html
