Dear Dr. Inouye: I've been asked by Jason Hoeksema to post this assistantship ad on his behalf (cc'd here).
Respondents should direct inquiries to Jason Hoeksema. Thanks, Steve Brewer A graduate assistantship is available to support a Master¹s or PhD student in the Hoeksema laboratory at the University of Mississippi. The student would investigate factors influencing variation in resource exchange rates between pines and their ectomycorrhizal fungi, which will allow testing of hypotheses from economic models of mutualisms. The student would utilize laboratory fungal culturing techniques and custom mycocosms to estimate plant-fungal resource exchanges in growth chamber experiments. Stipend support would be a combination of research and teaching assistantships, and would include tuition waivers and health benefits. The University of Mississippi is located in Oxford, a vibrant, charming, small college town in northern Mississippi. Desired start date is January or August, 2015. To express interest, please contact Dr. Jason Hoeksema ([email protected], 662-915-1275). J.
