Hello all-

With funding, time, and manpower constraints many academics and
professionals have to rely on estimates of species richness in place of true
richness for a single area of interest or set of sites.

I am very interested in learning what estimators are most popular, what
programs people are using to calculate richness, the rationale used for
sample completeness, and whether estimates are used for hypothesis testing,
habitat management, or conservation purposes.

I have created a VERY short survey to begin looking at how these tools are
actually used. The survey can be accessed by simply clicking on the
following link:

https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/RXR8NKY

Please take a few moments to respond, and also feel free to forward this
survey to other interested individuals. No identifying information is
required, so all responses are confidential.

Thank you in advance for your participation!
