Dear all, I would like to announce a call for papers for Open Quaternary, a new, peer-reviewed, open-access journal that some of you may be interested in publishing with. As the only fully open access journal publishing Quaternary science of all kinds (including original research, methods, and data papers), Open Quaternary features double-blind peer review and a low article processing charge of £250 ($500), which can be waived through a process external to peer and editorial review after the paper has been accepted for publication. I include details below, but you can also visit www.openquaternary.com for more information or get in touch with me directly.
Best wishes, Suzanne -- Dr. Suzanne E. Pilaar Birch Assistant Professor Department of Anthropology Department of Geography University of Georgia Athens, GA, 30602 USA Website: uga.academia.edu/SuzannePilaarBirch Twitter: @suzie_birch *** Open Quaternary is a fully open access, double-blind peer-reviewed journal, publishing contributions that consider the changing environment of the Quaternary as well as the development of humanity. Visit www.openquaternary.com for more information. *Call for Papers* We are now accepting submissions for the 2015 launch of the journal. We welcome articles from a range of disciplines relating to Quaternary science. The broad scope of the journal covers a range of specialisms such as paleoecology, paleolimnology, geomorphology, palaeoclimatology, palaeobotany, palynology, vertebrate and invertebrate palaeontology, zooarchaeology, geoarchaeology, biological anthropology and Palaeolithic archaeology. Open Quaternary publishes one issue per year, with rapid publication as soon as articles are ready on a monthly basis. All submissions are subjected to double blind peer-reviewed, which has been shown to decrease gender bias in publication. Article Processing Charges (APCs) have been kept to a minimum to ensure that the journal can operate while remaining low cost and fully open access. At £250 ($500) the APC is just 10-20% of some competitors. The journal is published by Ubiquity Press, based out of University College London. We accept online submissions via our journal website. See Author Guidelines for further information. Alternatively, please contact the journal editors at [email protected] for more information. *Editorial Board* Suzanne Pilaar Birch (EiC) University of Georgia, US Victoria Herridge (EiC) Natural History Museum, UK Matthew Law (EiC) Bath Spa University, UK Geoff Bailey, University of York, UK Canan Cakirlar, Groningen University, ND Bethan Davies, Royal Holloway University of London, UK Ben Gearey, University College, Cork, IE Tom Gilbert, University of Copenhagen, DE Jacquelyn Gill, University of Maine, US Simon Goring, University of Wisonsin-Madison, US Seren Griffiths, Freelance/ Cardiff University, UK Erika Guttmann-Bond, Trinity St David, University of Wales, UK Tom Hill, Natural History Museum, UK Anson Mackay, University College London, UK John Marston, Boston University, US Hanneke Meijer, Institut Català de Paleontologia, ES Kirsty Penkman, University of York, UK Matthew Pope, University College London, UK Teresa Steele, UC Davis, US --
