Part-time Course Coordinator - WSU Vancouver Biology
Washington State University Vancouver is seeking a part-time instructor
to act as Course Coordinator for our introductory biology series for
majors (Biol 106, Biol 107).
Course coordinator responsibilities will include coordinating,
preparing, and maintaining the course laboratories, training and
supervising graduate teaching assistants, maintaining and updating
laboratory manual and course management system, organizing grading,
coordinating with lecturers and laboratory technicians, and teaching at
least one lab section. Depending on qualifications, the course
coordinator may also develop new laboratory exercises, provide lectures,
or act as lead instructor of these or related courses in future
semesters. There is the possibility of this becoming a full time
position in upcoming semesters depending on teaching needs and applicant

Qualifications: Minimum qualification: An M.S. degree in a biological
discipline with knowledge of introductory-level biology, genetics,
anatomy and physiology (plants and animals), evolution, and ecology, at
least one year of experience in teaching undergraduate laboratory
courses (can include experience as a teaching assistant), excellent
organizational and writing skills, and strong oral communication skills.
Preferred qualifications: PhD degree in a biological discipline,
excellent interpersonal skills, and experience as lead instructor for a
college-level biology course.
Start date is 1/5/2015.
