Field Station Manager, University of Akron Field Station The Department of Biology at the University of Akron is seeking a manager for the University of Akron Field Station. The UAFS is used by a variety of departments, including Biology, Geosciences, Anthropology, History, and Art, for both research and teaching. The successful applicant will have a Masters or PhD degree in a field of biology, environmental science or environmental education, and will be responsible for: 1) Oversight of the field station building (Martin Center for Field Studies and Environmental Education) and research and teaching equipment and facilities there, 2) Management of and control of invasive species at Steiner Woods (23 acres) and Panzner Wetland Wildlife Reserve (104 acres) , 3) Coordinating and participating in UAFS research/teaching/outreach activities, and 4) Promoting development and support of the station. Preference will be given to candidates with a background in environmental education and outreach. Research is encouraged but not required. Candidates with previous experience managing or working in a field station are encouraged to apply. This is a contract professional position in the Department of Biology.
