The Ecology and Evolution faculty in the Department of Plant Biology at the University of Vermont will have several openings for PhD students in Fall 2015. E&E faculty in Plant Biology study a broad array of topics in plant diversity and adaptation, including the ecology and evolution of invasive species, forest responses to climate change, the genomic basis of adaptation, and phylogenetic studies of adaptive radiations. In addition, there is a thriving Ecology and Evolution group across departments at UVM (http://www.uvm.edu/~eeb/), making for a highly interactive and stimulating graduate student body. Stipends are competitive, and Burlington offers an exceptional quality of life.
